Situated a short walk from Coronado’s central beach, the “Tropical Modern” residence was designed to provide an escape from the demands of a busy family’s full-time home in Hawaii. Coming from a tropical locale, the homeowners wanted to infuse elements of life from their home state into this home. The warm, red-brown tones of natural Cherry and Mahogany hardwoods are used throughout the interior and exterior to evoke a tropical sensibility in all spaces. A large spiral stairway adds a sculptural element into the main living space. Pocketing multi-slide doors off of the great room create a seamless connection between the indoors and outdoors. When the doors are open, an in-ground spa and water feature add the soft sound of water throughout the home.
