Situated adjacent to a small public park in Coronado, California, Maison du Parc was designed to provide an open, airy, and bright place of respite for a busy couple. The homeowners desired a simple, elegant contemporary design that embraced our ideal Southern California climate. At the front, the home engages the outdoors through an elevated front porch with large sliding glass doors, along with two walk-out balconies at the second floor, all of which are covered by a series of cantilevering roof projections. The rear of the home features a pocketing glass door that opens onto a covered outdoor living area. A splash pool with decorative fountains provides a visual focal point at the rear of the property. Natural materials are integrated throughout the home to add warmth to the contemporary design, including mahogany-clad roof eaves, natural limestone tile, and stained oak flooring, cabinetry and slatted partition wall.
